The Country Club of Asheville (CCA) of Asheville, NC had experienced many years of decreases in membership, years of operating deficits that were assessed to members, no “operating reserve” to handle unexpected needs and a “line of credit” has to be used periodically during the fiscal years, and a “capital fund” of only $150,000 and the club had a list of capital needs of around 6 million dollars.

CCA retained the professional consulting services of Brett Miller, PGA, of MMA Golf, since it was felt we needed professional help with trying to solve the many problems.

On January 8, 2015 the sale of CCA to McConnell Golf, LLC of Raleigh, NC closed after many months of research and study, that included researching numerous companies that purchase, manage or lease clubs, site visits by those companies that expressed an interest, review of letters of intent and proposals, presentations to the Board of Governors of CCA on recommendation of the Ad-Hoc Committee to accept the purchase proposal of McConnell Golf, LLC, many memberships meetings and the formal vote by the stockholders on the sale along with a proposal for CCA to continue ownership.
